Government Fund Application Lecture by Dr. Wang (Ocean NanoTech)01/16/2016

There are definitely tips in governmental funding applications. Mr. Wang’s company, Ocean NanoTech, applied for a total of $ 15 million in US government research funds. We invite all to attend this seminar on the tips in funding application shared by Dr. Wang.

Dr. Yongqiang Wang is a material chemist with more than 15 years experience in synthesis and surface modification of quantum dots, magnetic nanoparticles, and metal and metal oxide nanoparticles.  He received his Ph.D. degree in 1993 from Jilin University  (Changchun, China) and conducted post-doctoral training at Peking University (Beijing, China, 1994-1996), Vanderbilt University (Nashville, TN, 1996-1998))  and Emory University (Atlanta, GA, 1998-1999) in the fields of nanoparticle preparation, surface chemistry, opto-electronics and biomedical application of the nanoparticles. After he worked as a research scientist at NanoSonic Inc (Blacksburg, VA, USA,1999-2000) where he was awarded first SBIR project from NIST, he co-founded and served as the CTO of Nanomaterials & Nanofabrication Laboratories, LLC (2001-2004). He was awarded several SBIR/STTR project from NSF and NIH.  In the middle of 2004, Dr. Wang founded Ocean NanoTech, LLC (San Diego, CA).  Ocean NanoTech is committed to supplying highest quality nano/microparticles for biomedical applications. As the president, he has led the rapid expansion of the company, establishing a strong customer base of more than 1500 clients in various fields from academia, industry and health services worldwide. With the support of  more than $10 million SBIR/STTR funding from NIH, NSF and DOD,   the company is providing (i) a large variety of inorganic nano/microparticles with different functionalities; (ii) services to biomedical research; (iii) technology dissemination to the health care sector. Together with its collaborators in clinical settings, Ocean NanoTech focuses on clinical translation of the innovative materials in the field of the next generation of IVD probes, imaging contrast agents, and drug delivery platform. Dr. Wang published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers and also serves as a reviewer for several NIH SBIR review panels.
